Tentative Schedule of Events

A weekend Mensa Open House event is to be held in Ripley, Maine at Lane Homestead located at 220 Chandler Hill Road in Ripley (that is contiguous to Dexter, Maine).

List of Activities

Ø      Botanical Scavenger Hunt

Ø      Plant Exchange

Ø      Bring a plant to exchange.  Plants available for trade are Irises, Viburnum, Jerusalem Artichoke, Pink Rosa Rugosa (looking for white) and more....

Ø      Mensa ExCom Meeting

Ø      Poetry Readings

Ø      Stimulating Conversation

Ø      Saturday Evening Campfire Storytelling and Marshmallow Roast    

Ø      Book Discussion Group Meeting – One Flew Over the Cockoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey.

Ø      The movie will be showing during the weekend as well.

Ø      Mensa Testing Session

Friday Afternoon

            Garden tours held thoughout the weekend.  Meet and greet social until 4:30 PM.  Plant exchange whenever a plant enthusiast shows up with something to trade!  Some of the selections I have are pictured below.

Friday Evening

Saturday Morning

            Botanical Scavenger Hunt begins at 10 AM.  Ten plants with Latin names provided.  Reference materials will be available.  Tally up at 6:30 PM in the evening.  Winner gets second different print by Michael H. Lewis

Saturday Noon

            Pot Luck and Barbeque.  Bring something to share.

            Repeat Pot Luck and Barbeque.  Presentation offered by the Many Conspiracies Special Interest Group (MC-SIG.ORG)
